As ownership adjusted in 2025- one thing has remained unchanged: the heart of Honey Creek. The mission continues to honor those who started it all while embracing the passion and dreams that will carry this course into the future. Today, Honey Creek is as beautiful as ever, and the commitment of James and Melissa Nelson behind it remains focused on creating the very best golf experience possible for every player who visits.

For me personally, Honey Creek became more than a workplace.
I first came to the course with hopes of simply being part of the clubhouse team—and maybe finding more excuses to play this gorgeous course. But through conversations with Missy and Jim, something unexpected happened. They asked me what my future goals were, and I shared a dream I had quietly carried for years: someday managing a golf course.
Thankfully, they saw something in me that I wasn’t sure others had yet seen. They gave me an opportunity, believed in my potential, and trusted me with a chance I will forever be grateful for.
That belief is part of the heart of Honey Creek too. It’s a place built on dreams, opportunities, and people who worked hard and genuinely care.
